Most popular baby names of 1924

In 1924, the most popular names for US babies were Robert for boys (60,799 babies, 5.4% of boys) and Mary for girls (73,534 babies, 5.9% of girls). The rest of the top five were John, William, James and Charles for boys and Dorothy, Helen, Betty and Margaret for girls. SSA recorded 4,970 different boy names and 5,900 different girl names that year.
