Most popular baby names of 1925

In 1925, the most popular names for US babies were Robert for boys (60,896 babies, 5.5% of boys) and Mary for girls (70,586 babies, 5.8% of girls). The rest of the top five were John, William, James and Charles for boys and Dorothy, Betty, Helen and Margaret for girls. SSA recorded 4,867 different boy names and 5,771 different girl names that year.
