Most popular baby names of 1963

In 1963, the most popular names for US babies were Michael for boys (83,757 babies, 4.1% of boys) and Lisa for girls (56,040 babies, 2.9% of girls). The rest of the top five were John, David, James and Robert for boys and Mary, Susan, Karen and Linda for girls. SSA recorded 4,620 different boy names and 7,662 different girl names that year.
