Most popular baby names of 1964

In 1964, the most popular names for US babies were Michael for boys (82,619 babies, 4.1% of boys) and Lisa for girls (54,271 babies, 2.9% of girls). The rest of the top five were John, David, James and Robert for boys and Mary, Susan, Karen and Patricia for girls. SSA recorded 4,594 different boy names and 7,807 different girl names that year.
