Most popular baby names of 1905

In 1905, the most popular names for US babies were John for boys (8,059 babies, 6.1% of boys) and Mary for girls (16,067 babies, 5.5% of girls). The rest of the top five were William, James, George and Charles for boys and Helen, Margaret, Anna and Ruth for girls. SSA recorded 1,421 different boy names and 2,234 different girl names that year.
