Most popular baby names of 1906

In 1906, the most popular names for US babies were John for boys (8,264 babies, 6.2% of boys) and Mary for girls (16,370 babies, 5.5% of girls). The rest of the top five were William, James, George and Robert for boys and Helen, Margaret, Anna and Ruth for girls. SSA recorded 1,413 different boy names and 2,220 different girl names that year.
