Most popular baby names of 1911

In 1911, the most popular names for US babies were John for boys (13,446 babies, 6.0% of boys) and Mary for girls (24,390 babies, 5.8% of girls). The rest of the top five were William, James, George and Robert for boys and Helen, Margaret, Dorothy and Ruth for girls. SSA recorded 1,999 different boy names and 2,868 different girl names that year.
