Most popular baby names of 2005

In 2005, the most popular names for US babies were Jacob for boys (25,851 babies, 1.3% of boys) and Emily for girls (23,950 babies, 1.3% of girls). The rest of the top five were Michael, Joshua, Matthew and Ethan for boys and Emma, Madison, Abigail and Olivia for girls. SSA recorded 13,370 different boy names and 19,196 different girl names that year.
