Most popular baby names of 1993

In 1993, the most popular names for US babies were Michael for boys (49,568 babies, 2.5% of boys) and Jessica for girls (34,993 babies, 1.9% of girls). The rest of the top five were Christopher, Matthew, Joshua and Tyler for boys and Ashley, Sarah, Samantha and Emily for girls. SSA recorded 10,170 different boy names and 15,800 different girl names that year.
